Autonomous and unmanned systems are no longer isolated platforms. They are becoming networked, coordinated, and operationally interdependent.

Drones, ground vehicles, maritime systems, sensors, operators, and command environments are increasingly expected to work together in real time. That creates enormous capability. It also creates a new class of security problem.

The more connected these systems become, the more the communications layer matters.

Securing the platform is no longer enough. The link between the platform, the operator, and the wider mission environment is now a critical part of operational resilience. A system that can be intercepted, jammed, or spoofed at the communications layer is a system that cannot be trusted.

This is where Delatr is focused.

We build secure communications infrastructure for unmanned systems, with a specific emphasis on future-proofing existing platforms against the next generation of cryptographic and cyber threats.

The challenge is a practical one.

Most organisations cannot replace their entire unmanned system stack every time the threat landscape shifts. Solutions have to work with existing platforms, existing workflows, and existing operational constraints. Security cannot be an afterthought bolted on later. It has to be designed around how unmanned systems are actually used.

We have spent the last phase of development moving from concept into working integration, focused on proving that secure communications can be introduced into unmanned system environments without disrupting the tools, platforms, and processes operators already rely on.

The direction is clear. Making secure communications easier to integrate, easier to operate, and better suited to demanding environments where reliability and continuity are non-negotiable.

This matters especially now, as defence and security organisations begin preparing for post-quantum migration.

Systems procured and deployed today may remain in service for a decade or more. The cryptographic decisions made now will shape future exposure. Retrofitting security at the end of a platform's life is more expensive, more disruptive, and more complicated than building for it from the start.

The future of unmanned systems will not only be defined by better sensors, longer endurance, or greater autonomy. It will be defined by whether those systems can communicate securely, coordinate reliably, and remain trusted in contested environments.

That is the problem Delatr is building for.

Secure communications for unmanned systems. Designed for existing platforms. Built for the post-quantum era.
